A remake of El agente topo (2020)
Narrative
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator’s ad and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary "El Agente Topo".
All of the characters are incredibly easy to love and so recognizable as the people in your life
Because let’s be honest, at first glance I admit I wasn’t really sure I’d be remotely interested in the show, but somehow it still managed to pull me in. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself so invested that you just have to get to know the whodunnit!
My favorite show quote: “Everything great in your life, looking back on, seems like a miracle” It’s very poetic because it resonates with all of us
It’s also a gentle reminder that we’re all trying to do the same thing, live and in; enjoy life, so we can do our best to get along and most importantly, be nice to each other. I also have to admit, it was a little strange to see Ted Danson in this role, especially if you’re used to him as the Cheers character “Sam”; but very early on, “Charles” tugs at your heartstrings without leaving a sad memory of “Sam.” It’s a bittersweet yet gentle reminder that Father Time doesn’t play favorites.
It’s a nice change of pace, it doesn’t leave you feeling guilty about the latest “crime” show
We hope you watch it and recognize and feel the everyday challenges in our society, in our lives, that we live with daily.
