Is she a siren or a myth?
Narrative
Parthenope is a woman named after her city. In Greek myth, Parthenope is a siren who committed suicide after failing to charm Odysseus.
In the film, Parthenope is the embodiment of the city of Naples
Her body was washed up by the tide to where Castel dell’Ovo is now built, and therefore gave its name to the city that later became Neapolis, Naples. Heat Written by Peter Gregson Starring Peter Gregson, Warren Zielinski, Magdalena Filipczak, Laurie Anderson, Ashok Klouda.
They tried to cram 500 things into this girl’s life and it just doesn’t make sense
I’ve never seen such a mix of random scenes, it’s a long mix of random things that happen, some really random for no reason and no consequences. For the first hour, the main character acts like any 16-year-old tumblr want to be mystery girl would just spit out groups of high-register words to look intellectual.
The ending is the best part and gives a partial sense of accomplishment to an otherwise unconvincing movie
A lot of the changes between scenes happen when a question is asked, which can make for an “artistic” feel; at first glance the movie feels good, but after the fifth time it starts to get annoying. Some characters just pop into the movie and then disappear for no apparent reason, too much is left unsaid and unexplained.
