Katie, a freelance video editor desperately looking for work, receives a high-paying offer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video from an anonymous employer. Financially strapped and facing eviction, Katie happily accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera – it’s clearly just a carefully staged fabrication. But when the first job leads to even more lucrative work and more frighteningly realistic horror films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures in her apartment, terrible nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness that plagues her cat.
