After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Heyman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital to start over. Noticing that James is having trouble communicating with patients and having trouble communicating, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and film actor Michael Potts) suggests he enroll in a course on bedside manners and building deeper relationships with patients. Demons from James’ past begin to catch up when he finds himself absorbed in the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flannigan, NEVER Rarely Ever Ever) with mysterious symptoms. His connection to reality begins to fade as his disturbing nightmares, anxiety-fueled assumptions, and physical trauma collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. In this humanistic and unconventional vision of the genre, director Alex Thompson has assembled a strong ensemble of experienced character actors in his sequel to SAINT FRANCES – and predecessor GHOSTLIGHT.
